Can Robots Be Ethical?

Ethics are a code of morality, I think.  As such it could be programmed.
This was the premise of Asomof's I Robot rules.  The real question is, Can
robots with AI autonomously develop an ethics antithetical to human life
prefaced with humans as their masters.
