GR translation: until the monitors are there in blashing sheets of earth

A thought just popped in:  Monitor sound like Minotaur.  I think this whole
passage uses sound associations for other words or phrases that do have
meaning.

Pointsman has a recurring dream of being chased and caught by a minotaur in
the first chapter.  I haven't tried to dig deeper.  I think this passage
can be interpreted, but not translated.
