Definition number 3 of exercise from Merriam-Webster. yes, overwrought
carrying
the notion that one's mind is so full of anxiety, so occupied with the
worry that
one cannot see reality clearly? Psychologically, such a mental
preoccupation can distort
a balanced 'realistic' apprehension of life?
Hence the statement that he did not see only thru this
preoccupation but was a realist.
