Yes - imo The Great Fire is better than Bay of Noon.  But check out the summaries or other sources -  the latter was nominated for a Booker Prize back in its day - The Great Fire might have been ineligible because she was living in New York by that time. -  ?? -      

They’re both about WWII (as is Transit of Venus) and what happens to love and loss and so on.   They are kind of slow moving novels - lots of subtlety and nuance - not that different from Transit of Venus - maybe less romance.
