I've read the Witches, Laura and found it quite informative. (men as well
as women were persecuted though the latter took the brunt). also the fact
that such hysteria raised its head and withered away as if nothing happened
(not with a bang...). I think the site of the hangings in Salem is now a
Walgreens or sits right by it. seems apt
Fwiw, the movie for all its supernatural elements seems to be concerned
with female empowerment. who ever did the cinematography deserves high
praise. for those who can stick with it it pays off in the 2nd half
