From the Kena Upanishad as quoted in Campbell's HEROW/1KFACES, with a bit of JC's elaboration:

"'There goes neither the eye, nor speech, nor the mind: we know It not; nor do we see how to teach one about It. Different It is from all that are known, and It is beyond the unknown as well.'

"This is the highest and ultimate crucifixion, not only of the hero, but of his god as well."

This comes in the chapter, "The Ultimate Boon," in which JC talks about how the greatest gift of enlightenment unmakes the world of forms, the world of the gods, the membranes between all such worlds. -
