desert island books

Okay, condemned to live on a desert island until
the end of days, yours at least.

You are allowed the
Collected Works of three writers, one of them being Pynchon,
we  know, right?

Another would be Shakespeare, right, because...he is The Best
in English? (You can, esp if your native tongue is not English, substitute
another great writer here. Even if English is.)

And why?
