Railsea Pynchon reference

My son, knowing I have an appetite for post apocalyptic fiction suggested Railsea by China Mieville. It is a nice break from some more challenging material I have been working through in my reading time, not great, but fun boys adventure lit with amusing literary references to Moby Dick and Kidnapped.His style is reminiscent of RL Stevenson. He certainly reads good books because in the 2nd paragraph of ch 66 he has a subterranean digger called the Pinschon.

Someone else may have caught this but in memory of Dave I thought I should be sure to post it.
