NP. Taiji

I first had the opportunity to meet Wang Laoshi (www.worldtaiji.com) last
year when I went to NYC. He is a taiji brother of my other teacher, Dr.
Yang Yang (www.chentaiji.com), as they both studied with Grandmaster Feng
Zhiqiang, who died last year. (I'll see Yang Laoshi in June!). GM Feng was
one of the most highly respected taiji practitioners in China.
This is Chen style taiji, but has been modified by GM Feng, drawing
influences from Xin Yi, Bagua, Tong Bei, and other martial styles. The
emphasis is on health, meditation (standing, sitting, lying down), but Wang
Laoshi in particular is quite adept at the martial side. There are plenty
of videos of him on YouTube, as well as videos of GM Feng, his daughter,
also a high level teacher, and other of his students. I would mention Chen
Xiang in particular.
I'm happy to share anything that I know about any of this. I'm not a high
level guy, but I love it, and teach a little bit. I teach Yang Laoshi's EBT
curriculum, as well as silk reeling, some push hands practice-beginning
level, qigong...I also know the 24 form, pretty much, performed in this
video by Wang Laoshi, ( which we will be learning at the workshop), GM
Feng's 48 form, a sabre form, learning a 71 pao cui (more martial) form,
and some stick and ruler exercises.
It's fun stuff, and I meet great people when I go to these workshops...
