Arcosanti is close to the cattle ranch my high school buddy and his wife
were running while they were getting their musical act together (
http://www.dsquaredmusic.com/ they make great music, if it's the kind you
like), we visited there about 25 years ago and our toddler son was
introduced to the cowboy life at its most authentic and good. At that time
Arcosant seemed a bit run down, but I wish we had bought some of the
beautiful bells that they were making there, to hang in four garden. First
exposure for me came in in the Last Whole Earth Catalog where I saw
drawings and read about the project in the early '70s. Later I got to know
a Stanford classmate of my brother's who spent a year at Arcosanti and had
a great experience there as I learned some years later when we met again
and she told me all about her experience there. Haven't been back since,
but may check it out when I go to visit my friend again later this year.
