Is a phrase I used about Donald Trump ---purple ink? I don't care---and is my small homage to TRP in a letter I wrote
To the small town newspaper where DT visited late in the campaign ( which musta helped him win PA) in which I wrote of the visceral anger I felt miles away as he rallied
On the same street where my mother walked me to get my first library card. And reading as revelatory about him.
I was never informed it ran but someone I don't remember wrote me just this week to tell me that her 93-year old mother ( also no memory of) saw it, had heard about " me working in bookstores" and wanted to know if I would look over her Collection of art books.! Imagine.
I left the town before I was 10. She had to have " heard about me" the very old-fashioned way, word-of-mouth (Frank's kid) thru an established community and, with a lifetime to have found out how to get her books evaluated she trusts this kid who played on her street so long ago.
A so-poignant story to me and, since everything that happens is IN pynchon, reminds me of the olde village middle Europe of ATD. And traversing time.
