OK, interview is in suidafrikaans, but PEN SA president says that the best
author of our time is Pynchon. Breytenbach started a doctorate on GR in
1976 only to get the novel out of the hands of the Apartheid censors. New,
at least for me that GR was censored in at least one country -any other
examples?
Here's the quote in SA
With my own translation:
"Gerrit Olivier told me about Pynchon's V. and this is where my love for the
best writer of our time began. I even started with my doctorate only to get
Pynchon's GR out of the censor's chains and read it."

Apart from that, a rather amusing interview.
No turkey for me tonight, but quail - enjoy Thanksgiving,
Michel.
