NP - Terrence Malick SUCKS!

Having only seen two of his films, I can only say that he certainly does not "suck."
Thin Red line is one of the best war films ever, because it shows war (as well as the imperfect medium of film can) as it is. There is no patriotic nonsense. The boredom, the waste and the terror are all there. Malick seems to have brought out the best in many performances of actors who have not done so well since. I myself am a veteran of combat, so I can appreciate the realism. I feel lucky in having to endure only one year of it, rather than the "duration" inflicted on the veterans of WWII.

Days of Heaven was not nearly as bad as some of you have been ranting. Pretentiousness is often what we feel when we do not listen.
