Pynchon's censored file aesthetic

Well, we know he changed the working title, which he was prepared to go
with. (This title stayed on manuscript copies that
Viking had and gave out to paperback houses before they, Viking, even
published it.)
We know he kinda worked up to and thru the last minute, retyping it ALL
himself he told a young female phone-answerer at Viking.
So, why not come up with some name changes in the stretch?
Some of the Nixon stuff is pretty late in time.
Like The White Visitation?-- who knows?
