Long time, long time...
This cropping app coincidence is indeed a minor miracle- a communion
made slightly profane perhaps by the pepperoni and the cheese. The
scene reminds me that we are all just renters here, and that when our
lease is up we must leave our temporary enclaves and, with grace;
transcend them. I don't recall if this scene was in the book. I think
it was just a filmic nod to Robert Altman. Pynchon tends to favor body
shops when he references The Resurrection.
