GR translation: Far from rag, snow, lacerated streets

this piece is still mysterious for me, "rag" – pointedly singular and
without article – one of your most diverse homonyms; the snow is simply the
snow, referring to the passage 2 pages before that Monte quotes, and the
lacerated streets and the snow (and the rag?) point to the Revolution,
capitalized, the last word in the sentence before Mike's title quote ...
