Tancredi in AtD

Hello All,
Reading through Zeev Sternhell's "The Birth of Fascist Ideology" I came
across something. In chapter 4 (The Socialist-Nationalist Synthesis) the
author addresses this development in Italy and mentions a number of
characters, one of whom is called Tancredi (pseudonym of Massimo Rocca). He
is described thus: "Tancredi posed as a revolutionary while asserting that
there was more to be gained from war and conquest than from peace and
renunciation" (p168).
The AtD wiki proposes an association with " a time-traveling
character in *City
of Death*, a four-part serial in the British science fiction television
series *Dr. Who* which involves time travel and bilocation."
In my opinion the real life Italian Tancredi is more relevant to the
situation in AtD in which the young artist of the same name is gunned down
by Vibe's thugs than the Dr. Who character. It would be interesting to know
if our Italian readers associate the historical Tancredi with Pynchon's.
Have a good weekend
ciao
mc
