The List resurrects itself. 

 The PLIST works for Pynchon, as many don't for other writers, because

1) P's work opens to Life so richly, much can be talked of relatedly. 
2) his rich ambiguity opens up dialogue. 
3) his Iceland-Spar-like vision of everything connecting and his anarchy of humanism at once, so to coin a perhaps lousy phrase, allows all the freedom to interpret, connect; is inherently self-organizing and anti-authoritarian--no Monitor, no Rules. Inherent anti-vice. 
4) A not too obvious vision of human self-growth, maybe?, leans toward "getting things right" ...or else. After all, he does to geniusness. 
5) if we participate, we sit naked like the Burning Man nude bicycle race. So to speak.
