NP - Chemical Weapons Used in Syria... (or WERE they?)

You'd figure the level of basic smarts and book learnin' required to even
begin appreciating the works of Thomas Pynchon would inoculate one against
the ham-fisted, I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I,
rusty-bolts-and-rivets-showing propaganda of the sort being thrown our way
by Putin, Assad and their apologists, but apparently not.
