WW Norton publisher sez that the Academy likes Burton Raffel's best by
making it the one in their Norton Critical edition. (Or else they couldn't
get rights to another.)

The popular world, and Harold Bloom, who musta got paid though, so, judge
for yourself, proclaim Edith Grossman's recent translation.

When i first read it, I couldn't read the Penguin edition because the pages
were too thin! Shadows behind the words on the page one was reading. But,
surely just me.
The Penguin was the assigned edition then, an earlier translation, just
sayin', good teacher.

Another one I'd love to do in a Group Read (but I always do).
