Randomness is dead. Long live Uncertainty. And reality? It's poorly punctuated. Nothing's the only thing that's really real. That, and me being cute...

The Standard Model is/was a Carpenter's Gothic, cobbled together to meet the contingencies of the day and the need for an explanation of what is. Isis could have done a better job. Maybe she already has, or is trying to ?

And the Deseret? More like a haunted building waiting for those manly ghostbusters to come and save us from whatever happens next. But, as a symbol for a new model of what is is? Alas, I'm afraid The Deseret, or whatever replaces The Standard Model, may be just another gothic- cabled together this time- with the same dark, linear solutions, as before.

It's time (it's always time!) to think outside the linear box. Speaking of which, I hear purring from inside. There seems to be some weight to it- so gravity may be involved. But I'm not going to peek. I'm not going to draw conclusions. I'm not going to bring it all crashing down. Long live Azrael. Seems like we've (I know, I know) always been outside the box. But the box might be our only exit strategy. Cue Emily Dickinson.

So, that brings me to the topic at hand. It seems, I've learned through the internet, that the famous but aging world class mathematician, Michael Francis Atiyah, has made claim to proving the Riemann Hypothesis. Now, 89 year-old Atiyah may be walking a fine strip between lucidity and dementia, but Atiyah- from far better sources than I- is no crank. Although most experts seem not to take him seriously this time. I can't tell you he's done it- I'm struggling just to undestand the Zeta function- but I have a sense that, if proven, something about what "Randomness" is- if it is at all- will have changed. It may no longer be quite the sanctuary it's been for all these years and for all those times we've invented and re-invented God- to shield us from that very sanctuary. Randomness may have become, well, more indexed.

Hear an informal introduction to his proof by Sir Michael himself, here:

Good luck, if luck still matters-
