Life After Death on Streaming TV

The Good Place (Netflix)
Forever (Prime)
Russian Doll (Netflix)

The first two were hits. The third's a sleeper. All three poke at existence
and consciousness and "afterlife."  I've had zombies and vampires up to
*here*!  These shows aren't goth or sci-fi or fantasy. They play with
metaphysics's questions.  Is this a new zeitgeist thing?  I can't think of
other recent TV parallels.  If this is a new genre outbreak, I have to
think this is a good place to look at ourselves right now.
