This is the latest offering from Alex Garland, probably our finest
speculative fiction visionary currently working in film/TV (and yes, I
include Christopher Nolan in that mix).

The first six episodes of the eight episode series have been uploaded. I
have seen the first two episodes. Somewhere during the second episode,
something happens that... well... let's just say that it's been a few long
years since I've had a work of narrative art literally take my breath away
(as in, literally, as in, I gasped, my eyes popped out, and the rush inside
me just continued to intensify for an extended moment of ecstasy).

Not quite as intense as coming across the final moments that we share with
the Judge in Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian (wherein I stood up and wept
at the magnificence of that swirling, Apocalyptic tornado of prose), but
still, somewhere in the ballpark.

There are probably personal, internalized reasons for these reactions that
I get to various artworks, so the carryover to other souls probably isn't
one to one in terms of ratio of intensity... but I do believe there's
SOMETHING there that will cause some effect in at least some of you, as
well.

Anyway, if you have trouble finding the show, let me know and I'll share it
with you, one episode at a time, as some of us have done before with that
weird California Freemasony show (The Lodge?), Bolano's Nazi Literature in
the Americas, etc.

Jerky

PS - If you need some kind of Pynchon connection, there were a few times
during the first two episodes where I thought that this could be seen as a
spiritual sequel of sorts to Bleeding Edge.
