The opening song, “I Want You to Love Me” seems to offer a thesis for the
meaning of life: to love, to connect, to get “back in the pulse.”

Tolstoy so nicely shows Prince Andrew getting back in the pulse and Natasha
in it for the first time. Their whole sensibility, their whole beings,
pulse differently as presented when they fall in love. ---War & Peace
