So, is GR a more important novel now? Easier to read, now?
To be about us, now,it doesn't need hypersonics and new equations.
Iran, it seems, shot down a Boeing commercial airplane yesterday,
killing everyone on board.
Nothing nuclear ... but ... an accident of the kind that could have
nuclear repercussions.
Pynchon, in Luddite and with VL seemed to have moved on, as the world
did, from Physics to Bilology. But was his dire prediction in Luddite,
that robots would hook up to biology and the brass would be caught
flatfooted prescient? Not even Orwell, sez Pynchon, was prescient, but
now, it seems to me, GR is more prescient than ever.
