AtD translation: invested in, invested by

I fail to see how this invalidates my understanding of the word "invest" in
"invested by". That part of the sentence made no sense to me at all until I
found that particular sense in the dictionary. I know stretching is a
favorite form of exercise here on the P-list, but any other interpretation
feels tortured to me, not merely stretched. But that's just me.
