In a very short list of New & Recommended books this week/last week, dunno,
in the
printed NYT Book Review, in which just 5 books are pictured (I do not
know how many ARE recommended because I don't care and didn't read it) one
of them
recommended and pictured is that university press book promising a new
reading of* Vineland. *Just *Vineland, *although I am sure he must be
bringing in
all of Pynchon in some way.

Pretty different that such a title, not usually marketed as a trade
bookstore title, which are not usually university
press books except when they are major in audience possibility---newest
Oxford
History of the US say--would be featured like this.

I say some staffer at the NYTBR is a Pynchon fanatic and made the case and
won.
