Not P but Gatsby

Too much gushing in this review, of course and I know nothing of the
reviewer but
her enthusiasm is catching and I want to read. "demonic flare to spare".
What a surprising idea for
a novel, I say, lacking the writer's imagination and knowing ideas are not
what the best novels should usually begin in.

PS and it seems the reviewer did not know of the allusion to Fitzgerald's*
The Beautiful & the Damned,*
since she did not mention it. I'm presuming the novelist steeped herself
fully in Fitzgerald.
