Of course I was quoting Dylan with the "song and dance man" line. Early Dylan wrote prophetic material but did not, for obvious reasons want that role as a person. But we like to keep entertainers in their place and part of the reason he was labeled prophet and asked to explain his lyrics was to discredit him and keep him in line. Easier to culturally kill a prophet, particlarly a young one, than a poet.
What I am talking about as potentially causing a “greater cultural stir" is the actual fact that Kennedy was murdered by the deep state and that means that since then we are living in a false history, a fabricated understanding of what America is and that the reality of a murderous secret police within our government working for capitalists has never been accepted into a significant revaluation of reality within our culture media or historic self description. I am glad to hear there was more response than I noticed. These kinds of things used to have a bigger reverberation in the culture that would come more to my attention, but I accept that I may have missed some encouraging response. Also one thing people do in a case like this is talk about the genius of the message, in this case the references to Macbeth and pop music as culture signifiers and how it all works together as these reverberations through time that Dylan sounds like a repeating gong, and by emphasizing the artistry thus writers evade the call to consider the earth-shaking profundity of the meaning.
The reference to the obvious that I made was, again, the core assertion of the song - fact of the murder of Kennnedy by “they” not him, the facts all point to some combination of CIA, Mob and probably secret funders of the project, possibly some political insiders and FBI assistance (The point is there is a true ultra -right in America, fascists who agree on much and know each other, for whom murder is legitmate). There is never a lot of variation in the profile of these kinds of events around the world, or who is involved. Most always they involve secret police, fascistic politicos, criminals, and ultra right moneybags. I could list hundreds of examples just from CIA actions.

I thought more of a cultural stir would come from Murder Most Foul, seemed a work of genius enough to shake up the conspiracy theory culture wars and get people talking, but nothing observable came of it.. He was just saying the obvious, that it was a them and not a he and they are still here and their kingdom continues and that is what is unacceptable to say. Shut up Bob. You’re just a “song and dance man”; don't be putting the torch to the illusions. Enough with the prophet shit, the Kingdom is fine, the banks are sound, the trouble makers are under control.
