Hello P-Listers!

My name is Allen, though I usually post online by my nickname, Quail. I used to be a Pynchon Lister way back in the day…uh, going on twenty years ago? Perhaps David and Heikki may remember me, or at least remember my flame wars with Doug M. Along with my flappy-headed Canadian partner Larry Daw, I ran Spermatikos Logos, a Pynchon site, part of a larger literary endeavor called “The Modern Word.” Due to a long list of woes that began with the dot-com crash, the site went under around 2006. Fortunately, a few things have changed, and I’ve been able to resurrect Spermatikos Logos recently, along with the help of a few friends. There’s still a LOT of work to do to update the site, but it’s nice to be back. I even hear The Man wrote one or two novels in the meantime—what wazzit, “Inherent Lebowski?” maybe “Blinking Edge?” “The Nix?”

Anyway, getting back into Pynchon made me want to rejoin the Pynchon List again, so…here I am!

I know I’ve been gone for a long, long time; so I’ll probably lurk politely for a spell to get the lay of the land. But I just wanted to say “hello,” as I see some familiar names in my in-box!
