Matthew,

Fight them on the pagination limitation. use Procrustes.

Plus that is the hardest thing to look up all the time from general
knowledge.

But Rachel Cusk is wonderfully divisive and fits I think, except she isn't
from an old colony.
The must be encounterer Sally Rooney is probably over the page limits.
