For those too lazy to Google, I'm sorry, I wanted to include these links in my summary and forgot:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gematria
https://www.gematrix.org
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notarikon
One of my friends is a rabbi—a delightfully eccentric fellow, used to write the comic "Moon Knight"—and he once told me gematria is "Jewish Scrabble for Mystics." That's always stuck with me. (He's also one of the few people I know who read "Finnegans Wake" from cover to cover, and he adores Wagner.)

The basic Jewish Code is the Torah, the five written books [The Pentateuch]

BUT there is this from a book on Jewishness in society: There is another
Jewish code in which something is Jewish enough to be recognized by
non-Jewish Americans but not too Jewish as to be recognizable only to Jews.
Fiddler on the roof being the example of the former.
