Kit is speaking in a series of short statements that connect with each
other, but in a kind of “shorthanded” way that assumes you can follow his
train of thought.  It starts above, where, in response to Yash saying she
figured that, in comparison to Reef and Frank, Kit was the “religious”one,
having “got into: Sectarian vector wars, trafficking with the unseen,
priesthoods and heresies […] vows of abstinence, or...”

Frank responds:
1) “Guess it was always pretty practical for me.”  But it isn’t until his
next statement that vectorism’s “vows of abstinence” is what he is
referring to as “practical.”
2) “No money in vectors.”  And, knowing there’s no money in vectors:
3) “that’s a whole range of luxury items right there [that knows he’ll
never have, because he’s chosen vectors.]”  Therefore:
4) “Abstinence takes care of itself, pretty much.”
[No money = No temptation to indulge in “luxury items”]
