Interesting. Somehow I thought it was the actual room: "cool clean
interior, girl and woman, independent of his shorthand of stars . . ." and
"but this room has gone
on clarifying," as opposed to all the other "windy canalsides, bed-sitters,
bus-stop good-bys."
