About 10 pages
Pg 352-362 (nook)
3 sections - just starting to notice the bolding
1) Maxine (bolded)
Maxine goes back into DeepArcher, notes some changes away from the stunning
visual environment of her previous visit
meets up with Promoman and Sandwichgrrl, apparently avatars and
practitioners of an ongoing monetization there,
who apprise her that somebody apparently added a back door during the
randomization interregnum around the WTC disaster.
Now all kinds of modifications are cropping up.
She follows a visual link which gives her a queasy feeling (see, she’s
always departing from “safe choices”)
The link takes her into a spaceship environment
Reaches the bridge, which looks lived-in to the point of resembling a man
cave more than anything out of Star Trek, except for the view of stars
And there she meets up with Lucas’s avatar, recognizing him when he says,
“it’s code, ‘s all it is.”
He confides that they decided to go Open Source (but why not GPL!?) - “Just
dropped the tarball”
Lucas also drops some knowledge and wisdom, along with details about this
‘n’ that.
