GR translation: black as a hand in an evening glove

The hand itself in the glove could be any color, but it’s the black of the
glove that registers when you look at it.

Eager reference engine cranks up:

Is there an allusion to anarchist group, “the Black Hand?” - probably at
most not more than in passing.

Also, a passing allusion to possible changes rung on “clothes make the man”
type of concepts could be tweezed out of this, couldn’t it?

& how the presence of a very dark person might foreshadow the
Schwarzkommando?

Mike Jing and Mark Kohut:

Basic evening gloves are basic black....and his running-mate is black, is
why...probably a much darker West Indian
