V98.11-15, 100.6-10 No matter what flesh was there to appease the Witch,
cannibal, and sorcerer, flourishing implements of pain—alone, alone. He
doesn’t even know the Witch, can’t understand the hunger that defines
him/her, is only, in times of weakness, bewildered that it should coexist
in the same body as himself.
What does "it" refer to in this sentence?
Also, here "flourishing" means "brandishing", is that correct?
