At Tail ‘em and Nail ‘em, Daytona says Windust came to call.

Phone call from, and then light meal with, that rascal  Windust, who’s
interested in Avi and his possible Mossad connections.

Windust gives Maxine a folder and writes something on a napkin for her
before she leaves: an address for a meetup around 7 that evening.


Back at her office, Conkling Speedwell arouses vocal askanceness from
Daytona.

However, he recognizes traces of 9:30 Cologne - pinning their source down
to the folder from Windust.

She lies about where she got the folder for reasons she herself doesn’t
understand.

Back at home, with a clear aromatic indication that Windust is at the very
least a person of interest in Lester Traipse’s murder, she finds herself
deeply engaged in picking an outfit for the meetup.

Meanwhile, she hasn’t even read the contents of the folder!
