The Main Scientist behind MK-Ultra - a book recommendation

I second that recommendation. One should read John Marks' "The Search for the 'Manchurian Candidate'" first, however. For the adventurous, there is also Hank Albarellis's "A Terrible Mistake" about the Frank Olson affair and God knows what else. See also the TV series "Wormwood". William Sargant, i.e. Pointsman, played a role in the events, Cheney and Rumsfeld were involved in the cover-up.

I am still wondering how Pynchon could have known about MK-ULTRA by the time he wrote COL49.
