GR translation: there are boats of baklava

V537.21-25, P546.22-26    there are boats of baklava stuffed with Bavarian
cream, topped with curls of bittersweet chocolate, broken almonds, cherries
as big as ping-pong balls, and popcorn in melted marshmallows and butter,
and thousands of kinds of fudge, from liquorice to divinity, being slapped
out on the flat stone tables,

Does the "boat" here refer to a kind of shallow container, or is it
something else?
