Son John, who at the age of 12 helped Robert Whitehead test torpedoes, went on to father Agathe Whitehead.
Agathe married Georg von Trapp, the most successful Austro-Hungarian submarine commander in WWI, sinking 11 Allied merchant ships totaling 47,653 GRT and two Allied warships displacing 12,641 tons. (Not to mention - and Wikipedia currently doesn't - loss of lives)
They produced 7 children, whereupon she passed away, so Georg recruited, for their care, local nun Maria - and the rest is celebrated in song and story!
