Re: Dirkse's request for Pynchon bio.

Jules Siegel's "Who Is Thomas Pynchon... and why did he take off with my 
wife?" in Playboy, March 1977 (I think) contains some interesting bio 
data.  Apparently Pynchon and Siegel had been neighbors at Cornell and 
remained in periodic contract even after Pynchon started doing the 
author-recluse bit.

The piece is anecdotally interesting but I think I prefer the anonymous 
Pynchon - no messy bio-data clouding the discourse around his work!
