  Richard Romeo asks if ol' Stanley has retired (it has been 9 years
since FULL METAL JACKET). Well as a matter of fact, Kubrick has two
projects in the works : AI (for artificial intelligence), a sci-fi
special effects epic, and a thriller starring Nicole Kidman, EYES
WIDE SHUT, currently filming.
  And yes, though Kubrick and TP have certain thematic and struct-
ural affinities, their respective visual fields (SK - stripped
down, TP - dense and many-layered) are completly opposite.
