-contributing to the fun-question about the Pynchon-band:
The real Pynchon Band must be The Tattoos. I'd never heard of them. A
friend of mine, deep in the Easy-Listening craze that haunts Amsterdam at
them moment taped them for me. It's german, 1973, no vocals, two trumpets
play melody, Mexican style, against the background of a rhytmsection that
must consist of
older germans dressed in hawaiian shirts, but they play as if they're on
LSD, the guitarplayer has a malfunctioning fuzzbox that he even uses in
Alle Menschen werden Bruder (by Beethoven), the pianoplayer plays nice
R&R where he shouldn't and the
organplayer is somewhere outta there in deep space nine. But the thing
that made me think of Pynchon is that they have recorder-solos' (yes, the
wooden flute) as well....i guess they must have a record with
kazoo-solo's played by an older American whose name we all know....
....sorry to clutter your mailbox...I'm just getting crazy by listening
to this stupid Easy Listening...
