Or speaking more accurately, a Japanese/Spanish cross-language pun. 
Pretty clever if that's what he intended, huh?  Or near pun, as a
compromise had to be made between fumamota/fumemota on the one hand and
fumimotta (as Mr. Kihara has suggested) on the other. 

Come on guys, was I the only one to notice the fumamota (near) pun?  I'm
really not bragging; it just seems *so* obvious.  And I don't even know
Spanish all that well.

I don't see why he couldn't have learned _some_ Japanese.  His knowledge 
appears very broad, even encyclopaedic.  Besides, he must have learned some 
while researching ninjutsu.
