"Tlon" is I think the peak of Borges' art.  Terrifying like all
his best stuff, it leaves you in that indeterminate zone where
you aren't sure which is more real, the textual world which at
the story's beginning you cohabit with the narrator or the new
textual world appearing at the story's end...

After reading Borges, I can never even think about takign Barth,
Barthelme atc seriously.  He raised the stakes.
