The end of Pynchon's Band

Without a doubt, the band that Pynchon should record with is:

Jandek.

He has released dozens of records in the past 20 years on a small lable
called Corwood. No one knows who he is, and almost every record has a photo
of some truly tweaked looking MF (imagine a borderline albino Tom Waits). But
it is well known that it is not Jandek himself. Completely whacked. So stop
with all the Holy Modal Rounders-Zappa-Beefheart musings. I just can't
imagine TRP singing "Boobs a lot" or "Valley Girl." (okay, maybe "Moonlight
on Vermont").
