Saw it the other night. Gave it a 6 on a scale of 10 mostly that high 
because it did try to be careful of the paradox(en) that inevitibly 
arise with time travel. I found the mood at the onset well done but most 
of the film filled with rather gratuitous violence and rather obvious 
hackneyed pieces. 

The recurring bit with the child was interesting. I don't recall when 
I figured it out. 

I suspect the Brad Pitt role was expanded simply do to his prominence. I 
can't think of any reason for the length of the sanitarium scene. And 
what insane male in their right mind would want to recover if Ms. 
Stowe was their analyst? :)

Brazil, yes. 12 Monkeys? <shrug>

I did very much enjoy another recent film. City of Lost Children. But no 
TRP connections came to mind.
