recent movies

Speaking of recently released, subversive movies:

Has anyone seen Jarmusch's _Dead Man_, with Depp, Farmer, et al? I saw
it on the Fourth (as good a day as any to see it) on the strength of
_The Chicago Reader_ review (penned by Jonathan Rosenbaum, if anyone
knows his criticism) and I liked it. It wasn't "Pynchonian," if that
means "complexly layered," but it was profoundly ambiguous, grotesquely
violent, and, I thought, rather gripping. I'd recommend it to anyone
willing to risk it, with the caveat that you may hate it. (Not that
anyone on this list would ever come out strongly for or against
any given work of art...) Any opinions?
