Not to neglect the fact that utterly bizarre inversion of "life is like 
a box of chocolates" quote from _Forrest Gump, GOP_ was wickedly reminiscent
of Pynchon's humor.  The whole time I kept on thinking about Pynchon's 
deconstruction of/satires of Bing Crosby and John Wayne in _GR_...
